How to Configure, Publish and use InfoPath 2010 in SharePoint 2010

The main objective of this guide is to configure SharePoint 2010 environment so that it could support InfoPath form services and also how to use InfoPath 2010 client software to design and publish InfoPath forms to particular SharePoint document library.

Configuring InfoPath services on SharePoint 2010

Check whether the forms service is enabled in the SharePoint top level site.

On Premises SharePoint:

Navigate to the Site Settings -> Site Collection Features (under section Site Collection Administration) by clicking on the Site Actions action menu bar of SharePoint site.

How InfoPath 2010 and SharePoint 2010 work together

In this post, I am going to explain some of my work about InfoPath 2010 and SharePoint 2010. You can see how efficiently we can use these two products together. By using InfoPath and SharePoint together we can safe immense amount of time and achieve high goals.

1. Change Request Form:

This InfoPath form is designed to request changes. When form is submitted by authorized staff members these actions are performed:

1. Email sent to manager of staff to notify.

2. Form reviewed by manager, if it is approved then passed to higher management.

3. If approved by higher management then form automatically move to approved change request folder and an automatic email is sent to staff member and manager.

In this post i am going to explain how to resolve this warning message.

Warning: InfoPath Forms Services forms cannot be filled out in a Web browser because no State Service connection is configured.

This error occurs when there is no service connection for state service is configured.

In this AV form Equipment Type, Manufacturer and Model number are interdepending lists. If user picks up equipment type from equipment combo box, list of manufacturer combo box should only show manufacturer which are only related to this equipment type.
